Regret and I Met You are simple, moving ballads featuring just vocals and an acoustic guitar, the latter boasting some very clever lyrics. Alternative status is assured by the highly unusual instrumentation of Welcome, layered behind a memorable, haunting melody. The songwriting spark that graces the above tracks doesn't quite make it to the deceivingly titled Let's All Be Jolly. Unwaveringly downbeat, Winn could benefit from taking his own advice.
