Biography
Steve''s big musical ear was shaped as long ago as 1965, when, as a small boy in the age before daytime TV, bis mum
would leave him unattended in front of the test card with a tape recorder and a colouring book. Melodies would drift
in and around, and later air themselves over the stretches of time and sand that were bike rides and family holidays,
until it was time to go to school... Latterly, and luckily, Steve''s other ear unfolded such delights as Ravel and Loose
Tubes; Prokofiev and Paul Bley; British folk song and Bill Evans; music from Scandinavia, Europe and badly tuned
radios.
