Biography
The idea for making a movie about The Who came from Jeff Stein, a young American fan, who pitched the idea for The Kids Are Alright to Townshend at the premiere party for Tommy in New York City. Townshend initially rejected the idea and claimed that Stein cried for two hours. He told band manager, Bill Curbishley, that, 'anyone who cries for two hours could never make a film about The Who'. But Bill said, 'think about it the other way...'.
