Biography
Svetlana Voznesenska was born on April 25th, 1965 in Jeleznitza village, Southwest Bulgaria. Her family tree is from Macedonia. She has finished high school in the town of Simitli.
Svetlana Voznesenska has worked in the folk ensemble of the Central House of the National Army in Blagoevgrad. In 1990 she moved her family to Sofia capital. Since then she has been a soloist in the folk ensemble of the Bulgarian National Radio and works along with the folk group Loznitza. With the latter she continued to realise many of her authentic songs.
In 1998 she recorded her first songs as both solo singer and producer which were followed by new recordings in 2001 that concluded her album ''Rose garland, song bow''. It features the well known tamboura player Sergey Stoinov, the guitar/bosouki/tamboura wizard Valeri Gradinarski, duets with the singer Dobrin Koey and synthesizer, programming and arrangements in a typical Macedonian manner by Sergey Stoinov, Plamen Velinov & Ivan Platov.
In the year 2000 Svetlana Voznesenska was invited to work in Macedonian TV and Radio where as a soloist she recorded an album with the National Orchestra of Macedonian Radio.
At present she is working on a new album with authentic folklore of Macedonian origin which she''ll record with the Macedonian multi instrumental folk guru Stefche Stoikovski. The album is expected to be ready at the end of September 2001.
