Biography
In this sub-harmonic density structures they shift with great skill and class from the groove of driven motion (think of an actualised Kraftwerk ''autobahn''-era) to intimistic mediations (time of flight, reminding me of some tortoise remixes), from pounding dub-like progressions (liquid specimens, current power plane, polygonal phase) to convincing ethnic-trance experiments (flux pinning force). The whole work is extremely pleasant to listen to, and the more you play it the more you notice its different nuances. The song-writing is elaborate, and they manage to keep the CD varied without losing coherence - I think that the kaleidoscope-like drawings of the cover are a good way to describe their sound.
SPATIAL PULSEHEIGHT he nerd in me Instantly spotted Star Trek fonts on the cover-intentional or not, They are very fitting for this collection of spacy electronica which sport titles like Galaxy Cluster and Phase Transition. The music is built upon some strong percussion programming and deep bass those cross-traditional sounds with ethnic ones. The pads and sounds have the right Kind of phasing and modulation you would associate with this style, the phased percussion and arpeggios sometimes even give a seventies-, Kraftwerk appeal. In fact if rnusic which combine-, a hint of Tangerine dream soundscapes with a pinch of Mraftwerk beats (and is perhaps-, more accessible than either) appeals.
