Biography
Phantom Planet first came to the UK in 2002 to support their outstanding debut album, 'The Guest'. The Californian quintet formed while still at school, they are known for their incendiary live shows and uninhibited, intelligent song writing. The band have toured the states extensively and have won over an army of fans, their first album also won glowing reviews from critics and fans alike. In fact track ?California? from ?The Guest? is now being used as the theme tune to the hit TV series ?The OC?. In between acting (singer Alexander Greenwald appeared in the film Donnie Darko) and touring, Phantom Planet have recruited Jeff Conrad to replace original drummer Jason Schwartzman. The band returned to the studio in 2003 to record their second album ?Phantom Planet', recorded in Fredonia New York and produced by Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, Mogwai) this release sees the band bringing a more spiky, angry edge to their sound.
