Biography
I was born in London, although I grew up in Nottingham. I attended Forest Fields Grammar school, and after leaving 6th form college, I worked as a Laboratory Assistant for a short while before forming a band with friends. Far Image was the name of that band, playing various gigs around England. This culminated at the legendary Rainbow Theatre, London, where we supported such bands as Burning Spear, Culture and Aswad.
I was later contracted to perform with Burning Spear, playing keyboards on his European tour. It was with Spear that I acquired the art of song writing and music composition, and on my return to England began writing and composing my own songs.
The first track, ''Signs of the Times'', was written in 1994, and was originally written for the classical guitar. It, however, was commended for a Koestler Award (see enclosed copy of award and comments). Following positive criticism, some adjustments were made, as well as introducing more instruments. The second track, ''Time waits for no man'', was written in 1998, and was written as part of a performance - Journey of the Mask -commissioned by the National Lottery. The following tracks are instrumentals, and hopefully can be used as track for TV adverts, films, radio broadcasts or other media.
As well as compiling new material I am currently completing a MSc Research Methods degree at the Nottingham Trent University. Plans are also afoot to embark on PhD in Educational Psychology at the School of Education, University of Nottingham in October 2001.
I would like to thank the following musicians for the assistance and support on this CD. Panya Banjoko, backing vocals on 'Time waits for no man'; Emmanuel Williams, lead guitarist on 'Time waits for no man'; Chris Bucknall, keyboards, engineering and production on 'Time waits for no man'; the brothers from Leicester for their help in producing 'Signs of the times', and 'Free your mind dub'; and finally Brother Joseph on 'Take two'. Jah guidance and protection to all of you. And for the listeners out there I hope you find something you like ' so enjoy listening.
Hope you enjoy listening.
