Mischief's good solid rock music is a result of a combination of inspiration from bands such as Led Zeppelin and Van Halen and a distinct flirtation with metal and more progressive Music.
Founded in 1990, Mischief has drawn on the experience of its various band members over the years, which paid off with the recording of their first significant demo-tape in the spring of 1995. The vigour of the band was well captured in the Energy demotape by recording and mixing live in the studio in just one day. In spite of working with their new guitarist and drummer for only 2 months, Energy was well received and had airplay on Dutch National radio as well as regional radio stations. Mischief''s public exposure in various performances throughout the southern region of Holland has gained them much popularity and copies of the demo-tape have always sold well. After the departure of drummer Maurik Wouters in the autumn of 1995, Mischief used the talents of interim drummer John Bernards. John contributed to Mischief achieving its goal of writing songs that matched its high standard of musicianship. Robert van Kooy took over from John in the autumn of 1997 to complete today''s line-up in mischief.
Mischief recorded an 8-track pre-production tape in the summer of 1997 with producer and fellow musician MEC Vandebeeten. This definitive compilation of all of the bands songs was even better than expected and resulted in several songs being selected for a CD-production. Roberto Pijnenburg (brother of Jan Pijnenburg & Doe Maar) guest appeared on 2 songs and can be heard on Visions playing Hammond on The one I need.
'Visions' was presented to the public succesfully on the 6th of February 1998 and more gigs followed.
