Biography
Dark electro-pop with shameless 80s nostalgia and a healthy taste for the passion of the little death.
Miles From Anywhere is the latest project of singer, songwriter, keyboardist and misfit Kerry Samson, to explore the darker, more emotional side of his writing in electronic settings.
Kerry Samson (n? Mike Jackson) was born in 1977, was sat at a piano when he was seven, was sacked from his first hotel band summer season six years later, and never looked back. On coming to Leeds in 1995, he formed and ran the Great Escape Big Band, toured UK festivals with various bands and quickly gained a reputation for his hyperactive performances, passionate, unorthodox style and quirky writing.
He is a regular around the Leeds acoustic and alternative scene, his debut CD ''Playing With No Friends'' was described by the Leeds Guide as a ''debut with destiny'', ''hovering in the twilight zone where boundaries of reality and sheer derangement blurred''. The four songs on this EP are previews of the forthcoming album ''An Enlightened Nightmare'', to be completed in May 2000.
