Biography
A former art and photography teacher, Michael Chapman emerged from the folk scene in Yorkshire to sign a record deal with EMI's Harvest label with whom he recorded 3 albums from 1968-71. Earning himself a reputation as one of England's original songwriters, Chapman was never one to conform to acoustic folk purity however, and on his later albums he reaches for the electric guitar to employ harder rhythms to his songs.
