This band like so many bands before them generated from the boredom of growing up in a small town seemingly far away from where everything was happening. Music proved not only to be the needed escape but also a lasting passion that would play a tremendous part in these young peoples lives. From having had nothing to do, except staying at home listening to records or smoking cigs behind the school, playing music & getting in to that ?whole thing of forming bands? now became their entire world. Melody Club live up to their name & their music is pop with melodies that shoot straight from the heart - and they never set their guns for stun. The foundation of their song writing is very traditional. Inspired by the song writing of the 1960?s, they put melodies in the front room and then decorate the songs with new wave influences, synthesizers and punk rock guitars. These songs are for hot & humid independent nightclub dance floors anywhere in the world. Their debut single ?Palace Station? with its unique sound was actually their first recording. It has a distinctive frenetic pounding drum beat, pumping bass line and a simple but powerful synth theme. This song became the breaking point of Melody Club?s career, getting immense attention all over Scandinavia. The song ?Electric? shows another side of Melody Club. With its disco beat it was an instant dance floor smash hit. Not only had all their singles reached top listings in the Swedish charts, with the release of their debut album ?Music Machine? they now had the number one selling record in the country. Needless to say ?Music Machine? sold Gold in Sweden. Relentless touring followed all over Scandinavia selling out any club anywhere they went. Another very successful tour of Germany soon followed. Live, Melody Club is the total pop experience, with the visual stage approach and lots of hyperactive energy. All in all Melody Club have played over 160 shows since the ?Palace Station? single first came out, covering anything from small clubs to headlining big festivals playing in front of tens of thousands of people.
Along with their friends from Mando Diao & the Sounds, Melody Club are the most interesting thing to come out of Sweden since the Hives. Having conquered their native country, Melody Club are gaining fans all over Europe and are now setting their sights for England and Japan.
