Leda Atomica produce both vocal and instrumental music - that could probably be most closely described as experimental indie-rock - but that doesn't really even come close. Similar in approach to the mighty Mogwai, in that conventional song structures are abandoned in favour of textural sound and an awesomely precise sense of dynamics, Leda Atomica''s songs are sometimes quiet, sometimes brain-squelchingly loud, but they never let go of their love of the new and the beautiful. Fantastic.

Leda Atomica have been playing together in various bands on and off for about eight years, but the current line-up fell into place in April 2000 when Tom replaced original bass player James Matthews to join Nick, Anton and Johnny.
Although difficult to pigeonhole, Leda Atomica''s sound ranges from lo-fi jazz to noise freak-outs. Roughly equally divided between songs and instrumentals, Leda''s music uses the fairly standard drums, bass, two guitars and vocals line-up, although often including more unconventional instruments such as an analogue synth, an AM radio, toy piano, and pretty much anything else that makes a sound.
''Your Humble Narrator'' is their debut release, recorded over three sessions in three different studios and is an eclectic mix of the different styles which make up the Leda Atomica sound. It has already attracted praise from the music press, being described as ''a fine blend of post-modern rock'' containing ''a lot of originality'', and, slightly more bluntly, ''bloody good'', by Wondrous Stories (http://www.classicrocksociety.com). A few other random people have also suggested it is a great album to listen to when in an intoxicated state...
Leda Atomica are also members of the Crewe and Nantwich-based Realsounds Collective, who included Viewed From Above on their successful compilation CD.
