Biography
Concert music by John Jenkins and William Croft
John Jenkins was born in 1592, the son of a Maidstone carpenter. Not much is known of his early life, except that part of it was probably spent in or around London in the employment of the Countess of Warwick, and presumably in contact with court musicians.
His last years were spent at the home of Sir Philip Wodehouse at Kimberley, Norfolk, where he died on October 27th, 1678. He was buried in the church, where his epitaph can still be seen.
