Legend?s talents made him BMI's sole choice to receive one of the five 2002 Songwriter's Hall of Fame Scholarships.Legend has featured as a vocalist, pianist and co-writer on several tracks from Kanye West's debut album, The College Dropout. He was vocalist and pianist on tracks from Jay-Z's The Black Album (2003). Contributed vocals and co-wrote on "You Don't Know My Name" and other tracks, from The Diary of Alicia Keys (2003). Was also co-writer & pianist on Janet Jackson's new single "I Want You" (2004). He was lead vocalist and co-writer on the Black Eyed Peas song "The Boogie That B" from Elephunk (2003). Was pianist and video appearance on "Slow Jamz" by Twista & Kanye West f/ Jamie Foxx (2004). He co-wrote, played piano and was vocalist on "I Try" (f/ Mary J. Blige ), the lead single from Talib Kweli's forthcoming album Beautiful Struggle (2004). Was pianist, co-writer and vocalist on Lauryn Hill?s ?Everything is Everything? from the ?Miseducation of Lauryn Hill? and finally is the pianist on future releases by Britney Spears, Eve and Common.
