A propellant, sprightly minor blues featuring drums, bass, guitar (now acoustic, now electric) and alto saxophone. The groove fairly thunders along with brushed drums and a powerful walking bass line stoking up an unstoppable engine for the guitar and sax to ride upon. The theme, in the great tradition of blowing blues vehicles, is dispensed with suitable lack of ceremony, the quicker to give the players'' chops an airing. The improvisations - choosing to exploit mainly blues and pentatonic tonalities -are delivered with old-style gusto while the processing (on the guitar especially) gives the overall performance a contemporary sheen.
