His Majesties Sagbutts and Cornetts formed in 1982, and gave its first concert in St.Martin''s in the Fields, London, in September that year. Meridian Records expressed their interest in the group as early as the interval of that concert and, as a result, this recorded programme of attractive German music marks the second release. In the meantime, HMSC has appeared twice with the BBC''s ''Two Ronnies'', and in more serious vein, on Omnibus. As well as frequent visits to concert clubs, and festivals, in 1985 they appeared with the Tallis Scholars, Andrew Parrott, the choir of Claire College, Cambridge, Roger Norrington, John Elliott Gardiner and even, as here on their own, with guests Richard Wistreich and Alistair Ross.
