Biography
Hard rockers Hangface, who hail from Tromso in Norway, so impressed legendary producer/engineer Eddie Kramer at South By South West (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, that he brought them over to Los Angeles, recorded the band?s debut album, and hooked them up with heavyweight US management.Hangface had already built a huge following in Norway before making their first foray into America. Formed in 1999, by 2001 they had secured a coveted slot on Norway?s biggest Rock Festival, Quart, alongside such acts as Coldplay, Beck and No Doubt. They went down so well that Hangface were invited back the following year to play Quart two years in a row ? a rarity with Quart. The band were then signed by the Norwegian record label K-Ent, who funded Hangface?s foray into America. Hangface, a five piece band comprising Bee (lead vocals, acoustic guitar), DJ (guitar and vocals), Hogne (bass guitar, vocals, song writer), Espen (drummer) and Tom (lead guitar and vocals), relocated to America last year and toured with Cheap Trick and Pat Benatar during the Autumn of 2004, before completing ?Freakshow?. The band have also made friends with a variety of high flying US rock ?n? rollers, including Slash, with whom bass player Hogne worked with on his track on the ?Sing A Song Of Six Strings? album released last Autumn on Sony. Hangface are five hungry young rockers who have had a fantastic break. Explaining the band?s moniker, Hogne says 2It?s like when you wake up after a bad night, or you?re having a bad day, people ask ?Why the hang face?? If you have a hang face day then our music will turn your down into an up."
