Biography
^gwi lo [gw-eye l-oe]. In English, gwi is ghost, and lo is a colloquial term for a low-class, common man. Confused? Well, d'you ever feel that you are slightly removed from your peers? That's the sound of Gwilo. A sound that encompasses soaring grooves and beautiful melodies, bawdy rockers and delicate sentiment. Influenced by melancholic poets (Buckley/Gaye), funky soulsters (Parliament/Beck) and hedonistic rockstars (Bowie/Faces), the mix is potent. Comparisons abound (Soulwax, Ether, Spacehog, Jellyfish, Elvis Costello, The Police). So love it or hate it, but have an opinion.
