Biography
FIVE KNUCKLE formed in Bristol, England in 1998, influenced by punk and hardcore bands including MINOR THREAT, ANTI-FLAG, ENSIGN and CHOKING VICTIM. They were soon spotted by London label Household Name Records who put out the bands first release, the ?All Ages? E.P. Since then FIVE KNUCKLE have hardly been off the road ? touring with CAPDOWN, 28 DAYS, and LINK 80. In summer 2001 FIVE KNUCKLE opened the sold out Big Cheese SMASH IT UP show at London's Mean Fiddler, returning to the venue later in the year with GOOD RIDDANCE. 2001 also saw the band put out a split E.P with Bostonian ska-punkers BIG D AND THE KIDS TABLE on Household Name Records. July 2002 saw the release of the debut FIVE KNUCKLE album "Lost for Words, Far From Speechless", the album was a template for the bands discordant style. FIVE KNUCKLE continued touring throughout 2003, with a UK tour with ANTI-FLAG, dates with LEFTOVER CRACK and a debut European tour with F-MINUS behind them. They fearlessly embarked on a second tour of Europe (including SWEDEN), followed by headline duties on the 2003 Household Name Summer Tour, a tour with SNUFF and opening for THE DISTILLERS on both their 2003 London headline shows.Skip to 2004 : FIVE KNUCKLE have now produced their second album for Household Name Records, called ?Balance?. After 2 years of hard work perfecting their sound in the live arena they have successfully transported this into the studio. The result is a more thoughtful hardcore punk album, with the band?s socially conscious lyrics blasted through the angry guttural vocals, and with soaring guitar backed by a tighter than ever rhythm section.
