Bouncement is where bounce meets bashment ? here, right now. It?s our own living, breathing hip hop movement, one which is focussed enough to be recognisable, but flexible enough for each artist or group of artists to make it their own. You see, if you want to rap in your own voice, you have to find the rhythms that suit the syntax of that voice. It?s no good living in the past, dreaming of rapping over a DJ Premier beat in 1992, because you wouldn?t sound right anyway, even if you were there, even if reproducing it wasn?t played. But you weren?t. You?re here. So live with it and move forward. Bouncement is where bounce meets bashment but also where it meets street soul, 2step, roots reggae, techno, electro, afro-beat, afro-punk and anything else you can squeeze into the pot. And it?s a movement which takes in Fallacy & Fusion?s "Groundbreaker," Wolftown Committee?s Black Country street rhymes and the work of a hundred and one other artists about to break through.
