Biography
Erol Alkan first played at Bugged Out! in London in the summer of 2001. Already known for his cutting edge weekly indie club Trash, which played host to debut UK gigs from The Rapture, Peaches and LCD Soundsystem amongst many many others, Erol was an instant hit with the Bugged Out crowd and was offered a residency on the spot. Seemingly sartorially inspired by Joey Ramone, his anarchic DJing style soon wowed the crowds at Bugged Out! In Liverpool and Manchester and has since traveled the world headlining gigs from Berlin to Brazil. He's always got some curveballs - he was the first to play The White Stripes '7 Nation Army' off acetate and Guns'n'Roses 'Sweet Child Of Mine' was a staple of his set in 2003 - and surprises burnt onto CD especially for each gig and is often the lucky recipient of upfront tunes from kindred spirits like Soulwax, Tiga, Trevor Jackson, Ewan Pearson and Blackstrobe.
