'Peachtree Road' is tremendously varied and swings easily from country to rock to R&B infused blues, effortlessly showcasing Elton's extraordinary mastery of genre and his utterly distinctive and hugely expressive voice.Lyrically and musically the record is both positive and uplifting. Highlights include, 'My Elusive Drug', the frank but sensitive first single 'All That I'm Allowed', the autobiographical 'The Weight of the World' and the revelatory and touching, 'Freaks In Love'. Other stand-out tracks range from the acoustic driven, 'Porch Swing In Tupelo' with its invigorating chorus to 'Turn The Lights Out When You Leave' which recalls the classic 'Tumbleweed Connection' era. Even by his standards 2004 has been an incredible year for Elton John. He began his three year residency at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas with 'The Red Piano', art directed by David LaChapelle and toured extensively in the UK and US with his incredible band as well playing sold out dates with a full orchestra and choir. Elton returns to the UK this December where he will undoubtedly be performing tracks from 'Peachtree Road'.
