Biography
dyson
dyson is the solo project of 34 year old Simon Dyson. He has been involved in the music industry for a number of years although latterly as a music industry analyst. In 1998 he formed the three-piece band China Boy Hi and moved to London the following year.
For three years the band recorded and played live in the UK and Europe and in 1993 raised enough finance to form the Big Deep Blue recording company and release two singles distributed by BMG. Although these achieved moderate success the band split the following year.
Simon Dyson continued to play bass with Opus Funk and more recently Deliciously Huge. During the last few years he developed an interest in music programming and in June 2000 created Band9.
All the songs on the enclosed CD were recorded on a Cubase system and are a combination of real playing, audio samples and midi programming. They were written, recorded and produced solely by Simon Dyson.
Although he is now involved in writing about the music industry, he has maintained the desire to produce and record music. He would relish the possibility to have his music heard in some form or another and would welcome any suggestions regarding the fulfilment of this aim.
