Biography
Dillinger, The Dub Organiser, the last exponent of the classical Jamaican deejay school of the seventies, found worldwide fame and fortune with 'Cocaine In My Brain' which introduced the young star to an international audience in the mid seventies. Born Lester Bullocks he served his apprenticeship as Dennis Alcapone Junior alongside Dennis Alcapone on Kingston's El Paso Sound System before Lee Perry renamed him after another notorious U.S. gangster of the thirties at his debut recording session. His particular speciality, later to become common deejay currency, was to chronicle and comment on daily ghetto 'runnings' over a selection of the best rhythms of the time.
