Biography
London born Christopher White studied at the Royal College of Music, London where he won many prizes and left with one of the most coveted awards. Further awards enabled him to continue his studies at the Banff Centre in Canada and the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto. He has studied with many distinguished violinist both in North America and England. Christopher has been concertmaster with a number of orchestras both in England and Europe, alongside a varied performing career as soloist and chamber musician. He founded the Duo Amati, with pianist Melanie Reinhard, in 1990, as well as Trio Melisma.
Christopher lives in Germany, and performs in Switzerland, Germany, North America and the United Kingdom, especially London.
Melanie Reinhard is a Canadian pianist, who also has many prizes and awards to her credit. Having performed extensively on both sides of the Atlantic, she has been recognised as versatile and artistic musician who is sought after by noted instrumentalists and singers. Christopher and Melanie have received generous appreciation and acclaim wherever they perform together.
Duo Amati has specialised in the three Brahms sonatas for over a decade, and this CD is a culmination of their work. The other CD available at present, features the monumental works of Bach and Bartok for solo violin. Other CD's will follow, pursuing music, which is worthy of greater recognition.
