Biography
Fostering this fear of "known unknowns" - or is it "unknown knowns"? - of course, gives 'them' carte blanche to not only screw up globally but also to create a smokescreen to fuck with all the little things we enjoy domestically... from censoring music, art and film to banning smoking; taxing live venues out of existence and introducing ID cards through the back door of Glastonbury. (Can they really be trying to close DJ bars through some "no dancing" technicality?) Camp Actor know that a few minutes of pounding electro-dance rocking aren't going to change things much, and they?re certainly not dancing with David Icke, but at least they're not going to go down without a fight. "This Is Not New York" is Camp Actor 's third single, following on from the vinyl-only ?Ultrafashion?/?Antifashion? debut and last year's fantastic ?Semi-Detached Soul? EP (which made it into the official Dance Charts at no.12) and will be available through their own Press Industries label, distributed via Shellshock. The track has already appeared in the NagNagNag club's Top 10 chart and proved a huge live hit when Camp Actor recently played at the Cock club night in London.
