Biography
The Beauty Shop released their first album, 'Yr Money Or Yr Life' on the Shoeshine Records label in 2002 and immediately became the darlings of the 'alt-country-Americana' scene.Variously described as having Johnny Cash's gritty bad attitude mixed with Leonard Cohen's sublime world-weary lyrical outlook, The Beauty Shop have always been a 'punk acoustic country noir' kind of band. Last year's album, 'Crises Helpline' proved that this band has what it takes to write witty and tuneful songs about life's day-to-day ups and downs. The Guardian wrote: "It?s a country album tailor-made for the punk and emo kids Hoeffleur is busy dissecting".
