Vivaldi''s influence North of The Alps
is clearly seen with the two keyboard transcriptions
of violin concertos by J. S. Bach and his contemporary J. G. Walther.
Bach transcribed ten of Vivaldi''s string concertos; three for organ,
six for harpsichord and organ for four harpsichords and strings.
Walther was the organist at Weimar where he met Bach and
is perhaps best remembered for his musical dictionary
