Biography
At the dawn of club culture, Sally and Steve characteristically threw themselves headfirst into the movement as it was barely in its infancy. 'Charlie Chester took us on the legendary Ibiza 90! trip with Danny Rampling, Andrew Weatherall and a few others. It was bloody brilliant, laughs Sally, '100 English people not knowing what had hit them, prancing around in Ku next to Eurotrash like Bridgette Nielson and Grace Jones, hilarious. Outlandishly decadent yet somehow so organic. They then returned to the UK and proceeded to make some of the most pioneering and recognisable tracks of the past thirteen years including Techno Powers,' the chart grazing Barefoot In The Head' and first album, The Apple.' The band went on to define the sunset sounds of Caf? Del Mar and Mambo with the Duende' album - with tracks like Easter Song' and Estelle' two of the most compiled chill out tracks in existence.By 1993 they had founded the highly acclaimed Other label and out of nowhere they nonchalantly dropped the nu-disco classic, Que Tal America on Chicago's ultra cool Prescription records. Meanwhile, the rest of the scene looked on as Sally and Steve were name-checked by everyone from The Guardian to GQ via Jockey Slut and i-D. And so, over a decade later, All My Favourite' rounds up years of memories, recounting the sunsets, acid house raves, smoky clubs, strobe lights, fields, cows, drum machines, violins, love-ins, tantrums, Bacardi, thunderstorms, haystacks and thousands of smiles.
