GENERAL QUESTIONS
The peoplesound.com site is different. What happened? How has it changed?
We originally launched back in 1999, and felt that the site needed to be re-designed and updated to go with the new features we've introduced.
What is the purpose of peoplesound.com?
We are the only site where emerging and unsigned artists are showcased alongside major and independent label talent. Our mission is to host the broadest selection of music across the genre spectrum, and to allow music lovers to hear as much music as possible for free.
What can I do at peoplesound.com?
Peoplesound.com is a broadband-ready music preview web site. You can stream music from both emerging/unsigned and label based talent. In addition, you can download music from emerging artists totally free of charge.
The new peoplesound.com websites also allows you to create and share playlists of your favourite music as well as discuss your favourite artists in a music rich environment.
Why can't I download music from label-based artists?
Many labels allow us to use their content for streaming only. If we gave the music away, no one would buy it!
I am an artist, and I had music files on peoplesound.com. Do you still have them?
Yes, your music should still be here. We've transferred all the artist homepage information from the old site to the new one, and the user-friendly version of your homepage URL (like http://www.peoplesound.com/artist/name) remains the same.
If I want to upload/put my music on your site, what do I do?
Emerging/Unsigned Artists: Peoplesound.com does not currently allow artists to directly upload their music to the site, but we will shortly be launching an artist submission area where you can post your music for consideration.
Labels: If you would like your music to be included on the site for promotional use, please contact us to discuss the benefits of doing so.
Who owns peoplesound.com?
Peoplesound.com Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Buongiorno Vitaminic SpA. Buongiorno Vitaminic SpA (Italy, Nuovo Mercato, ticker: BVIT) is a leading European media company in the market of design, production and/or aggregation and distribution of multimedia contents, mainly in the field of entertainment services via e-mail and telephone. In addition to operating with local teams in Europe (Italy, the UK, Spain and Portugal, France, Germany, Austria) and in Mexico, Buongiorno Vitaminic also works in the Middle East and South Africa through distribution partnerships with major mobile operators.
Does peoplesound.com sell anything on its Web site?
Yes. The new site sells mobile products such as wallpapers, polyphonic and real music ringtones. Very shortly, we will also be selling concert tickets and over time we will be adding more music related products and services.
What happened to peoplesound.fr and peoplesound.de?
We decided to close the local French site and re-direct our French users to the new website. The German site will still be operational.
I was registered at the old site. Do I need to register again?
Yes. This is because we've improved the security of the new website, and to access some of the new features you will need to log in using a user name and password.

Music
How can peoplesound.com help me find new music?
Peoplesound.com brings you the latest in new music from established and emerging talent. The new site has condensed the number of music categories or genres it has to enable you to find the music that is relevant to you as quickly as possible.
In addition, the way in which you use the site has changed dramatically. In each genre and sub-genre, you can sort through the content by artist, track name and label. There are charts for every genre and sub-genre page and the functionality on each artist page is clearer and easier to use than ever before.
The music team at peoplesound are in daily contact with labels and artists to secure the most cutting-edge and up-to-date content available.
Why can't I find some artists at peoplesound.com?
We are working around the clock to ensure we have the widest possible selection available. In the meantime, we will continue to bring you a broad range of music from established and emerging artists and labels.
What types of music do you have?
Again, we have a very wide selection. The music spans all of the main genres, all of the major labels. Independent labels and emerging talent. All in all, we have well over 20,000 tracks on the site. When using the site, on the left-hand side of the page, you will see the 'genres' section. This is where you will find all the different types of music on the site.
Why do you have fewer genres?
We wanted to make the new site easier to use. Fewer genres = less time looking!
How are your charts compiled?
We use a combination of download and stream counts do determine our chart positions.

Search
How does your new search engine work?
When you type in an artist or track name, the search results will show you everything available on the site for that particular artist or track title.
Why can't I find what I am searching for?
It's most likely because we simply haven't added it yet - but we are adding new artists and tracks every day, so please check back again soon. Also, check the spelling of your search term - we have lots of artists in our system, and many have very similar names.

Digital Music
Why don't you sell downloads from label based artists yet?
For now, we are a promotional platform and want to keep the site as widely available and accessible as possible. Think of the site as a gigantic listening post, or a radio where you choose the music.
Why can I only download music for free from some artists and not others?
Emerging/unsigned music is free. Label based content is promotional only and not available for download - with some rare exceptions. In virtually all cases for label-based content, you will only be able to stream/listen to music.
When I click the play button, sometimes I only hear a 30-second sound clip and other times I hear the full track. Why is this?
We always try and secure full tracks where possible. That said, some labels will only allow us to play 30 second samples.

Technical Issues
I noticed a problem on one of your pages. Whom do I contact?
Please go to the contact us section and email the Webmaster with details. We greatly appreciate your feedback.
None of the sound clips on the site work for me. What should I do?
All our streaming sound samples are streamed in the Windows Media format, so you will need Windows Media Player installed to listen to them. Please visit www.microsoft.com/windowsmedia for the latest version of their player.
You must also make sure that your computer is associating Windows Media Player with .asx files. We are looking into providing audio streams that are compatible with other media players.

Hardware Section
I have a question about which portable player to buy. Can you help?
Yes. Our hardware section sells all the latest digital audio players on the market.
Can you help me determine which digital music files will work with my portable player?
Any music downloaded directly from this site is in the MP3 format (44.1 khz, 128kbps), and will work with all/most digital music players. Sometimes however, we do link to artists official websites where they might be selling downloads in digitally rights managed formats. For example, the Windows Media Format or the protected AAC format via Apple's iTunes Music Store. For support on these formats, please speak directly to the retailer or Webmaster of that site.
